The redevelopment of the former colony in Pinarella is moving forward: work is getting closer to starting
In recent days, the Mayor of Cervia, Mirko Boschetti, met Technacy's CEO, Vittorio Foschi, and its co-founder and HR Manager, Michela Gulminelli, to discuss the start of the redevelopment and regeneration works at the former Colonia Paradies in Pinarella.
The project is called ConnectingPlace. It will turn the building into Technacy's new headquarters and a space open to the whole community.
Where we stand
Vittorio and Michela updated the Mayor on the state of play. The permitting and administrative phase should now be complete, and the final authorization to start the works is expected shortly. By the end of the year, then, construction can begin.
Two steps will follow:
- The demolition of the current building, because of the instability of its foundations, which should take a few months.
- In spring, the start of construction of the new headquarters, designed by Officina Meme Architetti.
From the start of the works, Technacy has three years to complete the building.
What ConnectingPlace is
ConnectingPlace will be the first project on the Romagna Riviera to combine coworking, coliving, energy sustainability and the enhancement of disused heritage. The structure will cover a total area of about 3,150 m² (including green space and beach), with a total volume of 5,700 m³, in a unique seafront location next to the Cervia pine forest.
The building will have three levels plus a rooftop:
- Ground floor: coworking space with a bar, connected to the green area.
- First floor: coliving.
- Second floor: Technacy's headquarters.
- Rooftop: terrace with a meeting and events room.
The project will also include a garden dedicated to events and the beach.
The architectural project by Officina Meme Architetti aims for zero land consumption, preserving the historic footprint of the 1960 building, high energy efficiency, soil de-sealing and new public standards based on Nature Based Solutions (NBS) design principles. A photovoltaic pergola on the roof will make the building energy self-sufficient.
